| Comments:I was assigned first to Mike Company, then to H&S Company while I recovered from surgery in Okinawa. Stayed with H&S until mid-February when I was transferred to Lima Company. Right femur shattered by rifle bullet during battle for Hill 50 in Operation Utah. Spent almost a year recovering at USNH Balboa in San Diego. Doing "OK," but recently diagnosed with moderate combat-related PTSD, which doubled my compensation rate. Please visit my web site, "A Navy corpsman goes to war," at http://www.ingraham.ca/bob/vietnam_home.html. Served with H&S Co., 3/1 from 01/66 to 03/66, Corpsman ,8404. |
