| Comments:I don't remember a lot about my tour. I also don't want to give all the information asked on your questionaire. if this disqualifies me so be it. I'm a Vet I would assume this would be expected. I think my MOS was 0351 if that is rockets, 106's, that's what I was trained for.At present I'm to lazy to dig up my DD 214. However,I was a grunt. I was a Fire Team Leader at three months in country and was a Squad Leader in one of the two rocket squads formed near the end of my tour. A guy named Galagose, from Calif., was the other Team leader. He became a Majors driver or something. Wonder what happend to him? I knew a kid named James Gore from Tennesse. He isn't on the wall. I went there once for about five minutes. There is a James Gore from the Carolina's but he was from Tenn. I heard he got it on my way home. Heard he was with the dying 9th, bummer. I've always wondered if he was alive. Thanks, Mike AKA Bright Eyes....UPDATE-3/1 India Nov 68-DEC 69. I would like to hear from any Vets whether you remember me or not. I don't recall a lot about my tour and names have been lost over the years. Some called me Bright Eyes. I was also the guy that complained that he couldn't hear after returning from Guam. I've worn two hearing Aides since I got back to the world. I wasn't sandbagging. I must admit I was angry for years in regard to what happened. However, the honor of serving with men such as you is one of the highlights of my life. Semper Fi, always MikeServed with India Co, 3/1 Marines from 11/68 to 12/69, 0351/0300. |
