| Comments:My tour with Kilo 3/1 was during 1966. I was a Sgt/Squad Leader; "Speedy" was the CO when I joined the Company and Capt Winston had just taken over when I got hit; At that time I was doing the Combined Action thing for our Company (Speedy asked me to do that). When I last saw Capt Winston(Hoa Long Hoa Vang Quang Nam Viet Nam)he was firing an M-60! After 18 months in hospitals, I returned to duty and finished up with 32 years. My last tour with K/3/1 was 1973/74. My last contact with Capt (LtCol) Winston was on a Med Cruise. Currently I am a Detective with the Albuquerque PD; been on the Department for 11 years. With that said, the most memorable Marines, men and moments in my life were with K/3/1/. Semper Fi. Served with Kilo Co 3/1 Marines from 03/66 to 03/68, 1st Plt. |
