| Comments:Arrived DaNang end of November 66 as 0311-there was a need for more 0331 Machine Guns so I volunteered. Was on the following operations Glenn, Stone, Searcey, Lafayette, Canyon, Humbolt, Union 1, Calhoun, Elliott and
finally Pike. Wounded by a grenade April 2, 1967-we were carrying the Stoners and the gooks wanted one, they hit us good that night. I was back in the action
about a month later. In Jul 67 some guys who had been previously wounded were transferred to Security Platoon at 1st Mar Div HDQ, I was there for a month or
so and then someone decided they needed us back in the field so instead of sending me back to 3/1 the powers to be sent me to D Co 1/1. On 9/6/67 we went
in to help, I believe it was the 5th marines who had gotten hit bad and we got into it and I was hit with 3 bullets and somehow survived. Recovery was about 11
months and 13 operations. Was retired Oct. 1968. Semper Fi to all who have served and a special thanks to all the corpsman, for without them I would not be here today. God Bless America. Served with Lima 3/1 Guns from 11/66 to 7/67, 1st Mar Div Security 7/67-8/67 and Delta 1/1 8/67-9/67.Served with Lima 3/1 from 11/66 to 07/67, Weapons Plt. 1st Mar Div Security 07/67 to 08/67 and Delta 1/1 08/67 to 09/67. |
