Comments:Arrived in Chu Lai on an LST from DaNang on an overnight trip after disembarking from the USNS Weigle out of San Diego. The battalion moved to the DaNang area for the rest of my tour. I became a radio operator , initiallly with the prc 9, and prc 10, and then the glorious prc 25, which enabled communication with a voice at the other end (the prc 9 and 10 were line of sight, once they were out of sight, you were out of sound).I finished my tour with 2nd platoon and flew to Okinawa for a search and shower, then home in a uniform that was to big, but hung on melong enough to do the job. Served with Lima 3/1 From Apr. '66 to May '67 2nd platoon RTO....Staff Sargeant Willinham and Sargeant Hogan were our DI's for most of our boot camp training. Does anyone know what may have become of these two career Marines?Served with Lima 3/1 from 4/66 to 5/67 2nd Plt, 0311.
