Comments:After Vietnam I was stationed at MCRD Service Company Police Sgt. My company Gunny was CMH Gunny Jimmy Howard he's also from Iowa. Served at Marine Corps Barraks Guam Company D Naval Magazine June of '68 to October '69 Discharged at Treasure Island San Franciso, California. From '72 to '79 I was with the Arizona Army National Guard, E-6 Staff Sargent being an asst. Platoon Sgt. Motor T Company (Duce and Halfs Trucks) 2221st Light, Medium, Truck Company. Roosevelt Armory, Phoenix, Arizona....My USMC Anniversary date is Feb. 14th. 1966, Boot Camp at MCRD San Diego Calif. Platoon 148, Vietnam > 3/1 Lima 2- 1st. sqd. radioman ( Lima 2 alpha ) started my tour at the base of Marble Mountain in August of "66" December (same year) 3/1 moved out to the sand dunes, operations I participated in Agnst Aug."66", Teton Oct."66", Madison Oct."66", Glenn Dec."66", Searsey Feb."67", Stone Feb."67", Lafayette March "67", Canyon Apr."67", Humbolt Apr."67", Union 1 Apr."67", Calhoun June"67", Gem July "67", Pike Aug."67", Cochise Aug."67". We turned in our M-14's and participated with the Stoners Rifles in Feb."67" 90 days later give or take a day we turned in our Stoners and drew the new M-16's ( here we go again !! ) Rotated back to the States Sept. "67" Reported to service company in San Diego, Calif. and became Police Sgt. for ( CMH ) Gunny Jimmy Howard of October "67", June "68"-Oct. "69" Company D Marine Barracks Guam ( Naval Magazine ). one used Marine October "69"Served with Lima 3/1 from 8/66 to 9/67 2nd Platoon, 2nd squad radioman.
