| Comments:I joined 3/1 in Okinawa then the Phillipines for the "Float" to Viet
Nam. I was on the Valley Forge, LPH-8. I was in HQ company as Tactical Air
Control Party, "TACP" member. Later went to Lima Co. as TACP chief in HQ
platoon.
I remember Stu Ford, Dave Staley, Ed Coonce, Brownie, Norris, Tommy Calibaut, JC
Conlon, Quinn Magbanua, and probably more, Like Russ Chiafanie, sp, from New
York, who taught me to play guitar.
We were on the North side of the Qua Viet River, close to Badminton, then down
to Cam Lo and on to Camp Carroll, finally to the Rock Pile. later on somewhere
outside Danang, guarding a bridge, where we were still located when I rotated
home.
Wish I could remember more, but it's been almost 38 years.
I now work in Redmond, Washington. I'm a hydraulic engineer. I work designing
and testing juvenile salmon bypass systems for dams on the Columbia River.
"Semper Fi" to all.
