| Comments:I joined Lima Company Mid July 67. I was assigned to weapons Plt. as the Plt Sgt., but most of my tour was spent assigned to the 2nd plt. I was the right guide for Lieut.Burlingame. I was WIA Nov. 7, 1967, while on patrol near the bridge, north west of the Battalion Area atMarble Mountain. The bridge was on a dirt road between Rt-1 and the back road to Da Nang. I had a mine blow up in front of me. I sent two days at the field med in Da Nang, then sent toGuam Naval Hospital for 30 days then toBethesda Naval Hospital, then discharged with a medical in July 68. Rick my cousin L/Cpl. Brain Adams from Wells Maine was assigned 3/1 H&S Company 81 mortars. Oct 67 until Nov 68. He has a stroke in 1997 which left him paralyzed and unable to speak or write. Jul 67 Thru Nov 67.Served with Lima 3/1 from 07/67 to 11/67 Weapons Plt. & 2nd Plt, 0331. |
