| Comments:update-I wish to compliment Oliver Jackson for his efforts in building and maintaining this site. I am looking forward to thanking him personally at our 2004 reunion.
I wish to remember Lt. Smith who was killed Jan 28, 1968 as we (Lima Co) were fighting to take Lam Xuan in the Cua Viet. His calmness in the heat of combat was a steadying force for all those who observed him.
Finally, a hand salute to Randy McGlone whom I carried a radio for as he called in Arty. He saved my life, while risking his assulting Thom Tham Kye Dec 1967.Arrived in Nam June 1967, left October 1969 after one tour and two extensions. I was with "C" Btry 1/11 attached to Lima from Oct 67 to Feb 68. I spent the balance of time with Arty Liason for 3/1.
The memorial service in San Diego reunion for those of you who missed it was one of most special experiences of my life. Hand Salute to those who served with 3/1, and those who gave their lives. We will never forget- Semper Fi.
