Comments: I was a Lieutenant with the 1st engineer bn. But served as an infantry platoon commander with 2nd platoon Mike company 3/1 for about 6 months over the winter of 66/67 and through the rainy season. We were near Nui Kim Son and Marble Mountain and then south and west into an trac one, two, three, and four (as I recall). Sometimes we were on the coast near a leper hospital an Hue (or something like that). We walked a lot of miles together ,and slept in the woods a lot , and were glad we had artillary support . I do remember with fondness some of the names on your roster and I am sure they will remember me . I was discharged as a Captain, went to law school and moved from Boston to a small town on the coast of Maine . Service with mike 3/1 was the real Marine Corps which no one can understand who has not been through it , and I have had the same ups and downs as most former-Marines. The Marines is a unique brotherhood. It was usually not fun, but I am glad I served . Semper Fi ...........Frank Hallissey Served with 3/1 Mike Co. from 3/66 to 4/67, 2nd plt, 0302.
