| Comments:I was first assigned to Gulf Co. 2/3 where I was stationed at the Rockpile until the first troop withdrawal. Then I was assigned to Mike Co. 3/1 on Hill 55. I was involved in operations, Virginia Ridge and Pipestone Canyon. After being promoted to E-5, I was placed in charge of a CAG Unit which was 1/2 Marines and 1/2 ARVNS and we worked the various villages surrounding Hill 55. My last night in Vietnam was spent in one of the worst fights with the VC we had been involved in. The next morning I was on my way home to early release/discharge.
